(RYT-200), the daughter of an adventurer and a Polish vice-champion in martial arts, Dorota has always been looking for challenges in her life. As a mother of two teenagers, an academic teacher of English Literature and World History at William Paterson University, Centenary College, and other schools, and a published poet, she has always looked for new ways to expand the experiences in her life and the lives of others. She has practiced yoga since 2000 but yoga and meditation began to change her life in 2007 while teaching at Anglo-Chinese University in Fujin in China. She discovered the power of mind and meditative breathing when her students invited her to spend a week with Buddhist monks in the remote Drum Mountains in East China. Upon returning to America she expanded her experience of meditation at 5Rhythms Dance Meditation Center and practiced with the late Gabrielle Roth and her son Jonathon Horan in NYC, as well as participated in many forms of traditional Hatha based yoga including Bikram Yoga with wonderful teachers from NYC and NJ. She discovered vinyasa yoga at Younique Yoga and decided to complete the Teacher Training Program. Dorota designs and teaches classes that integrate yoga and mindfulness; her teaching style offers clear instruction emphasizing emotional awareness and the physical. Her teaching methods, from challenging to peaceful, are inspired by her studies of yoga, a year of studying physical therapy at the University of Physical Culture and Training in Poznan, and her own therapeutic practice which she has used to heal injuries and build energy.
